Job Title: Bowl Barista (Santana Row store).

Location : San Jose, California.

Report to: Assistant Manager & General Manager.

Part-time, Hourly, On-site.

$23 - $25 hourly.

At Palmetto Superfoods, we specialize in making one-of-a-kind superfood bowls with authentic Brazilian Açaí coupled with an array of additional bases and toppings that compliment your tastebuds! • Team Members: Starting at $18.25/hr - $20.00/hr (depending on experience).
• Shift Leaders: Starting at $20.00/hr- $22.00/hr (depending on experience).

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and serve bowls and smoothies by following Palmetto Superfoods’ signature recipes, mastering each step to consistently deliver beautifully crafted, high-quality products.
• Confidently explain the health benefits of ingredients to customers in an upbeat and informative manner.
• Prioritize providing excellent customer service, including being positive and extremely polite, such as proactively informing guests of accurate wait times.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of food items, Palmetto Superfoods recipes, and ingredients.
• Effectively handle special circumstances or guest concerns with professionalism, attentiveness, and care.
• Step in to assist at the register and digital ordering platforms as needed, providing fast and friendly checkout service to ensure a smooth customer experience.
• Fully understand and adhere to the brand’s Employee Handbook (EHB) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times.
• Prepare food while following health, safety, and sanitation guidelines accordingly to proper Palmetto Superfoods preparation and safety procedures.
• Properly stock, rotate, and organize deliveries in a timely manner and at an appropriate time to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Wash blenders, containers, and ice cream scoopers, and return them to their designated areas.
• Continuously and thoroughly clean the kitchen, lobby, and outside area.
• Communicate effectively with other staff members and work as a team player to ensure that all orders are punctual and accurate.
• Communicate with managers about scheduling related matters in a timely manner, such as requesting time off.
• Practice punctuality by showing up on time and optimally taking breaks for the appropriate duration.
• Complete all opening, mid-shift, and closing responsibilities as scheduled, and follow daily and weekly reminders to keep everything running smoothly.
• Practice effective cost-cutting measures to maximize team success.
• Track food quality and promptly report inventory needs to ensure consistent product availability.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as requested by management.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to comfortably operate a basic computer and POS system to complete tasks, such as handling order receipts.
• Food Safety Certificate is required prior to employment.
• Exhibit a positive and down-to-earth personality, top-notch customer service, and active engagement in person and digital formats.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a calm, confident approach to challenges.
• Excellent communication, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Be flexible and be able to work a part-time shift during our hours of 7 AM to 9 PM.
• Availability to work early mornings at open or closing times is preferred and compensated at a higher differential (depending on skills and experience).
• Must adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation requirements.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and occasionally lift medium-weight boxes.
• Ability to move quickly and with a sense of urgency to meet the demand of a fast-paced work environment.
• Maintain a clean and work-appropriate personal appearance while on shift.
• Come to work with a positive attitude and willingness to work well with others.
• Food experience or an active Food Handler Permit is a PLUS!
• Computer/Mobile knowledge is a PLUS!
