Job Description

Select Source Solutions is seeking an experienced Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support the cybersecurity posture of IT systems at the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Boulder, CO. The ISSO plays a critical role in safeguarding mission-critical information systems, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity policies and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a secure operational environment in accordance with DoDI 8500.01, AFI 17-101, and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidelines.

• Monitor systems continuously to identify and mitigate security risks.

• Implement and update security controls as required, maintaining alignment with RMF practices.

• Provide subject matter expertise in security incident response and system recovery efforts.

• Ensure proper documentation and authorization for all system changes affecting security posture.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain compliance with DoD cybersecurity mandates.

• Maintain situational awareness of emerging cybersecurity threats and proactively address vulnerabilities.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in information systems security or a related field.

• Must meet qualification standards as defined in DoD Manual 8140.03 for RMF roles.

• Must possess one of the following active certifications:

  • Certified in Governance, Risk and Compliance (CGRC/CAP)

  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+)

  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)

  • CompTIA Cloud+

  • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

  • CompTIA Security+

  • GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)

Security Clearance:

• Must have or be eligible to obtain a Tier 3 background investigation clearance.

  Salary: $98,500–$143,100/year.  This is part of a proposal process for a government contract.
