We are currently recruiting to fill the following position: **Job Description** **PRIDE Industries** **Job Description** ** ** **Job:** Landscape Gardener **Job Code:** AA090-CFL-Landscape Gardener **HR Title Group:** Commercial Contracts (Custodial & Landscape) **Salary Grade:** N15 **FLSA Status:** Non-Exempt **Approval Date:** September 2020 **SUPERVISES:** There are no direct reports with this position. **POSITION SUMMARY:** Under close supervision, the Landscape Gardener installs and maintains landscaped areas, roads, and parking lots of assigned facilities. Employees in this job perform work to assure grounds are maintained in safe and pristine condition. This job class requires knowledge of landscaping practices, procedures, supplies and equipment and the ability to perform landscaping job functions in a safe and timely manner. **TYPICAL DUTIES:** 1. *Performs landscape maintenance activities and improvement projects at customer locations. 2. * Mows lawns, trims hedges and shrubs, maintains overall appearance of landscape vegetation and grounds. 3. * Applies fertilizer, weed killer, and necessary pesticides, pulls weeds, and maintains flower beds. 4. * Picks up trash, leaves, and provides a clean and neat appearance of the grounds. 5. * Monitors and maintains irrigation systems to ensure that vegetation is properly irrigated. 6. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. ***** DenotesEssential Job Function **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** - A minimum of one year of experience in landscaping is preferred; - Knowledge of landscape maintenance standards and techniques, materials, and the safe and proper use of chemicals preferred; - Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from team, customers and others; - Effective written communication skills using appropriate business English; - Human relations skills to maintain effective working relationships with team; - Effective customer service skills. **EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:** High School Diploma or GED **CERTIFICATES REQUIRED: ** The following licenses or certificates may berequired depending on local, state and/or contract requirements: Valid Driver's License ** ** **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: - Standing, and/or walking - Bending and stooping - Exposure to toxic substances - Exposure to wind, rain, cold, and heat - Noise from equipment - Lifting 35 lbs. regularly ** ** **WORK ENVIRONMENT:** Majority of work is performed outside at job sites subject to weather conditions in an environment using landscaping tools and equipment.
