Description A respected San Francisco-based litigation firm is seeking a California-licensed Litigation Attorney to support its growing caseload of complex insurance defense matters. This is a fully remote, long-term contract role offering consistent, ongoing work in premises liability, general liability, and commercial claims. While not contract-to-hire at this time, the firm's steady caseload makes this a strong opportunity for attorneys seeking remote flexibility, meaningful litigation work, and long-term stability. Key Responsibilities: + Support complex insurance defense litigation matters through all phases of the litigation lifecycle, from discovery through trial preparation. + Draft pleadings, legal memoranda, motions (including dispositive motions), and discovery response + Conduct legal research and prepare internal case assessments, outlines, and strategy briefs. + Handle written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission, as well as meet-and-confer communications. + Assist in deposition preparation, including reviewing case files, drafting outlines, and coordinating with witnesses and experts. + Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to support high-exposure litigation involving corporate clients, public entities, and insurers. Requirements Qualifications: + Must be licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar. + Minimum 3+ years of recent, defense-side civil litigation experience-ideally in insurance defense, general liability, or related areas. + Strong legal writing skills and demonstrated experience with discovery, law and motion, and case management in California courts. + Comfortable working independently on remote teams and maintaining a 1900-hour billable pace. + Availability to travel to Los Angeles or San Francisco for trial support, if necessary. + Prior experience supporting commercial clients, public entities, or insurance carriers is highly preferred.
