Job Description

Job Summary:

The Prep Cook will assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in preparing ingredients and performing basic cooking tasks in preparation for the restaurant's service. The ideal candidate is a team player with a passion for culinary arts, has previous experience in a professional kitchen, and is committed to delivering an exceptional dining experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meats, and grains for cooking
• Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistent quality of food
• Measure and mix ingredients for recipes
• Prepare stocks, soups, and sauces as directed by the Executive Chef and Sous Chef
• Set up and stock workstations with all necessary supplies
• Ensure that food is prepared in a timely and efficient manner
• Ensure all food items are properly labeled and stored at appropriate temperatures
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures when handling food and equipment
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including daily cleaning and sanitizing of workstations and equipment
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies as needed
• Communicate effectively with the front-of-house staff and other kitchen team members
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience as a prep cook or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation methods
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food preparation and service
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
