Job Title: Revenue Cycle Specialist: Medicare Bad Debt and Medicaid Collections

Location: Remote (excluding California)

Rate: $22/hr on W2 without benefits

Length of Contract: 4+ months

Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM PST with 30-minute unpaid lunch

Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Research, initiate follow-up, and resolve all unpaid or underpaid system debit balances on secondary to Medicare insurance claims
• Review remits and EOBs, call payer(s) and clinics, rebill claims, navigate payer portals, and take adjustments in billing system
• Use critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills to determine the root cause of underpayments and apply appropriate policies and procedures
• Navigate various payer systems and multiple internal systems to ensure timely and accurate resolution of secondary to Medicare claims
• Use exceptional organization, written, and verbal communication skills to document research and actions taken on claims
• Stay updated on healthcare reimbursement and regulatory changes
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clinical personnel, teammates, and payer representatives
• Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and complete assignments while maintaining a positive attitude
• Maintain confidentiality of company and patient information per HIPAA regulations and DaVita policies
• Consistent and punctual attendance is essential

Required Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Computer competency, including typing, basic troubleshooting, and system navigation
• Ability to problem solve and perform root cause analysis

Preferred Skills:

• Healthcare experience, especially in insurance or revenue cycle
• Insurance claim collections experience
