Job Description
JURISolutions Legal (JSL) is partnering with one of our government clients to hire a Senior Paralegal located in downtown Los Angeles, CA. Candidate must be able to work onsite when required by client.
The ideal candidate should have 7+ years of demonstrated experience as a Paralegal, experience with legal research, ability to prioritize and multitask, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The preferred candidate will be proficient in performing the following tasks:
Compiles, prepares, and summarizes relevant materials for use by attorneys in discovery and in preparation of motions, briefs and other legal documents; summarizes depositions and other transcripts; maintains case files; performs simple or complex legal research; indexes, tracks and controls document discovery (including documents produced and received in discovery); indexes, tracks, and controls exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial.
May synopsize transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use; reviews case related materials and, for example, identifies potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation; writes preliminary drafts of legal memoranda and correspondence. Prepares exhibit cross-references.
Reviews documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria. Other examples of the types of work to be performed include compilation of documents for FOIA, production requests, Congressional inquiries, etc. Special knowledge and skills, such as litigation, document analysis or accounting are a huge plus! Litigation specialty supports attorneys during trial, including courtroom locations and may include experience in witness interviews.
