Job Description

AB Staffing is looking for an experienced Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) that is available for the 2025/2026 school year.

Salary:

• $1,425.00 - $1,550.00/week.

Requirements:

• Active New Mexico SLPA license.
• CPR/BLS Cert.
• At least one year of recent relevant experience preferred.
• School and IEP experience is preferred but not required.
• Positive, energetic, and compassionate approach to education.
• Must possess strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required.

Job Description:

• Caseload and details of position/classroom type will differ based on school location.
• Contract through the 2025/2026 school year – 37.5 to 40 hours per week.
• Contract follows the academic district calendar.

Position Overview: Provide speech and language therapy services to help students improve communication and learning skills.

Essential Functions:

• Assist with screenings and evaluations as directed by the supervising SLP.
• Identify students needing specialized speech or language services and provide tailored solutions for academic success by implementing individualized education plan and provide direct therapy services addressing treatment goals to meet the needs of the student(s), as directed by the supervising SLP.
• Collect data and document student performance and report its information in a timely manner.
• Conduct individual and group therapy using curriculum-based materials and provide progress reports.
• Create engaging learning environments and promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
