We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our awesome team! A vet assistant is an important part of any veterinary team. We are Fremont Animal Hospital in Fremont, MI. The vet assistant is responsible for various tasks, including: maintaining a healthy, happy, and clean environment for pets, preparing patients for procedures, and filling prescriptions. POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• 1 year of previous experience working in a veterinary practice or sufficient experience for the listed skills is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassion and sympathy in delicate situations with pet parents
• Maintain a professional attitude in stressful situations
• Skill with technology preferred (i.e., phones, computers, etc.)
• Team player with the ability to adapt to change

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a clean, healthy, and positive environment for pets and their owners.
• Assist vets and licensed techs with appointments and prepping for procedures.
• Proactively set up any equipment or tools for the vet to use on the patient.
• Fill prescriptions
• Perform diagnostic imaging
• Perform laboratory work
• Provide compassionate care
• Maintain animals' comfort level in overnight stays or when they are boarded.
